This issue of One in Ten raises awareness on violence as a cause and effect of children with disabilities. It concentrates on a wide range of violence involving children in situations of war, armed conflict, institutions and orphanages, and other childcare facilities. It also looks at sexual abuse on the disabled child and makes a case for women and disabled girls. The social and political contexts of the issue are also raised and suggestions are made to raise public awareness through education and community involvement.
