2-5Field visit to Haiti

The Independent Expert went to Haiti in a joint mission promoted by the Inter American Commission on Human Rights and the UNICEF Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. In his visit the Independent Expert met with local authorities, including the Minister of justice, representatives of UN agencies and of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti, local NGOs and children. He also visited the juvenile offender’s centre of Delmas and the city of Ouanaminthe at the border with the Dominican Republic. (read the press release: French version, Spanish version
