Independent Expert Activities September 2006

25-282nd Session of the Human Rights Council, Geneva

The independent expert made an oral presentation at the second session of the Human Rights Council, 28 September. In his presentation he highlighted some recommendations of the UN Study on Violence against Children. Click here to read the statement. On 25 September, the expert, the Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF, the Chair of the Committee on the Rights of the Child, and representatives from WHO and the NGO advisory panel for the Study participated in a side event on the necessary steps to ensure strong follow up to the UN Study.
