26-March 9The 51st session of the Commission on the Status of Women

In accordance with its multi-year programme of work for 2007-2009, the priority theme considered by the Commission was “The elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child” (To know more, click here). With the Division for the Advancement of Women, UNICEF organised a panel discussion on this theme. (To know more about this event click here). Also based on this theme, an online discussion was held from 14 August to 8 September 2006. The Division for the Advancement of Women, in collaboration with UNICEF, also organised an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on this theme. The EGM was hosted by the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre in Florence, Italy, from 25 to 28 September 2006 (To see the report of this meeting click here).
