Hani Jahshan

Dr. Hani Jahshan is a Forensic Pathologist and Forensic Physician. He got the first degree in Medicine and Surgery form the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jordan, and the Jordanian Board in Forensic Medicine and Pathology, from Jordanian Medical Council. In August, 1992 he was appointed as a consultant forensic pathologist at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine which is the reference center of medico-legal cases in Jordan. In 1998 he was appointed as chief forensic physician at the Family Protection Directorate at the Public security Department in Jordan, This Directorate deals with Child abuse and Sexual Violence cases in Jordan. His professional activities include, in addition to clinical and pathology practice, teaching in the areas of Forensic Medicine and Child Abuse, to a wide variety of students, including undergraduates and postgraduates medicine, law, police and civil defense. He is a Forensic Medicine Expert for the Criminal and Civil Courts. He is a professional member in the Jordan Medical Association, Jordan Society Of Pathologists, and the Jordan society Of Forensic sciences. Dr Jahshan is the Coordinator of the Academic Link between the National Institute of Forensic Medicine and Liverpool John Moores University in United Kingdom, and participated in the consultations for a WHO guidelines on Sexual Violence. Dr Jahshan is a Faculty Staff Member and the Arab Region Advisor to the International Society for the Prevention Of Child Abuse And Neglect (ISPCAN). He served as a consultant for the development of the National Framework for Family Protection, and the national report on Violence and Health, and a member of Health and Protection committees of the Jordanian "World fit for Children" 10 years strategy. He is the founder and chair person of the Arab Professional Network for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect(APNPCAN). He is the founder and the secretary general of a specialized society (JSPVFV) that fights violence against women in its worst forms especially the Intra-familial homicide (Honor Crimes). As a medical practitioner who studied and valued the human life by all means, Dr Jahshan believes strongly that each individual is precious, special and deserve the best and his mission through his practice is the persistent application of quality justice and human rights for the individual and in the community.
