UNICEF. Gender-Based Violence in Schools in Pakistan [not published]

This document provides a brief project outline of an initiative between UNICEF and Save the Children, Sweden. It outlines the situation of corporal punishment in Pakistani schools and the lack of attention given to the issue thus far. The research hopes to contribute to an enhanced understanding of the nature, underlying causes and consequences of corporal punishment in homes and schools, by including the participation of all relevant actors. It also hopes to as a practical basis to assist government advocacy efforts to reduce corporal punishment and to develop a toolkit for child-focused participatory research.
