Governor General to Open May Conference

Come be among the 1,200 people attending our long-awaited third London conference on children and domestic violence. Conference Co-hosts are the Centre for Children and Families in the Justice System, the Centre for Research & Education on Violence against Women and Children, and the CAMH Centre for Prevention Science.

Join us May 9th for a special opening address by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D., Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada.


Pre-conference Workshops

We begin on May 9th with a pre-conference option of six workshops designed for professionals and volunteers in abused women's advocacy, social service, mental health, justice, public health and education.

  • Presenters are responsible for registration, travel, and accommodation costs.

Passport Requirements for Citizens of the United States

Since January 23, 2007, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551, if applicable. Land and sea travelers are also encouraged to have a valid U.S. passport. If they do not have a passport, they should be prepared to provide a government-issued photo ID (e.g. driver's license) and proof of U.S. citizenship such as a U.S. birth or naturalization certificate.

VISA Requirements to Enter Canada

Some visitors to Canada must secure a visa to enter this country to attend a conference.

Note also that some people traveling through the United States may require transit visas.
